We were very impressed with the packaging, it arrived well protected, so if you are purchasing from AllModern, there is no need to worry about damage. We were also pleasantly surprised by the base, which is made of black marble with subtle white veining. It is heavy to fully support the large lamp, giving it a sturdy feel.
