These are beautifully made, but bigger/taller than I imagined. For bedside table use, they are somewhat tall, and the shade is nearly big enough to fit my head into (I tried it!). This lamp is perfect for my needs. I have a narrow black metal end table and needed a lamp with a smaller base and shade but still tall enough to provide light in a dark corner.
