I love it aesthetically. Note it does not come with a bulb, you need to order one. I ordered a 40W Filament Edison T10 Tube Light Bulb from Destination Lighting which is incredible. The perfect brightness and color temperature. I do not like the T9/T10's on amazon, because they are too orange-colored as they coat the bulbs with a orange tint to warm it up. A real 40 watt bulb is plenty warm, and it does not need the extra orange tint.
Now the things I think could be better about this light. First off, for the price, I think the brass colored metal could be more robust and heavy-duty feeling. It really does look and feel like a cheap knock-off compared to what real turn-of-the-century lighting use to be built. I would happily pay more for more the same design, but built higher quality, and heavier.
Another great feature would be if it included a dimmer. Now I have to but one separately, and splice it in (I do a little electrical) because one thing I like about Edison bulbs is the ability to lower them way down without flicker.
I will say one thing I REALLY appreciate about this lamp is that it is built for both LED and INCANDESCENT bulbs, and up to 60 WATTS! Which is great. I do NOT like LED lights, as the color temperature is harsh and unnatural. Also most bulbs are low CRI (color accuracy). Incandescent lights (that use filaments and actual electron incandescence) are much better on the eyes, and better for melatonin production as they don't produce near as much blue light, and produce zero flicker. LED bulbs actually flicker, but it's faster than the human eye can detect on a conscious level.
Overall this lamp is beautiful, and I would probably buy it again. But if there were a higher quality version, I'd buy that instead, and probably more than one.
