I love it! I got this size because the bigger one was going to take months. But I'm VERY glad this is the size I got. It's almost too big. Delivery was easy. I do wish they gave you more notice or allowed you to schedule when it's convenient for you. However, the delivery guys were great. Definitely NOT “acorn” colored. This is a dark cherry or mahogany red stained piece of furniture. I am extremely disappointed in how it looked in the photos and how NOT light brown it is. I think the manufacturer either sent me the wrong color or they significantly changed the stain without communicating it to All Modern. That being said, it is great quality, solid, and easy to put together. I won’t be returning because of the cost of the rerun since there was no damage due to shipping. We purchased the Cal King and a beautiful and solid wood piece that was easy to put together. We added a 9” box spring and have a 10” purple mattress on top; this gave a good height and I would recommend no lower then 18-20” because then you would see the non decorative slat on the headboard. The only issue, and this was in a previous review is that with the Cal King there is a few inches extra length. You don’t notice when the bed is made up but in order to keep your pillows from sliding off the bed we pushed the decorative pillows down between the mattress and headboard. I liked the piece enough to make the concession and maybe in the future we would build a 2x2 frame and add fabric to make an end piece to fit in here. If you push the mattress and box spring up to the head of the bed then you get the extra inches at the foot which is very obvious. We searched online and in stores for a long time before landing on the Dakota bookcase, and I'm glad we took our time. We bought two. They're well-built and higher quality than I expected. The wood grain is unusual, but harmonious and not distracting. The legs give them a kind of finished appearance that's perfect in our 1960's apartment. They come assembled - you only have to add the feet - and with the "white glove" service, the guys delivered, set them up and took away all the packing in a jiffy. The only thing I would add is a leveling knob at the bottom of the legs. Our 1960s apartment doesn't have very level floors and it took some futzing with pads to get them even.. Anonymous. The bookcase is made from solid wood, steady and formal in style which we like. It is also easy to assemble. It has unfortunately some strange smell, likely from painting. It took some work but used a French cleat system to hang this mirror as I was fearful the hooks provided wouldn’t be strong enough especially in earthquake prone California. It’s a super clean nice look and very heavy. We also ordered the wood tone one for our other bedroom but that one came with mounting brackets which are quite secure. Our dresser is actually 2 3 drawer small dressers pushed together to make one large one. If you order the regular dresser, the mounting bracket is quite sturdy.
