The rug is unique and soft, the edges are a bit shiny and the center is more of warm cream color, give it interesting contrast. It's also pretty soft, not incredibly thick, but enough that I'd be able to sit on the rug comfortably. So many rugs now are very thin, and we wanted something that both felt nice to walk on but was thick enough to sit on as well. The one thing to look out for is that the size is not truly 5' x 8', my guess is due to the oval shape the sizing they gave was just an approximation off a standard rectangular rug. This rug is very soft and high quality. It makes our living room pop. The only thing I don’t like is that it sheds pretty bad. We’ve had it out for ~3 weeks and it needs vacuumed every 3 days and fills our vacuum up twice before it’s done. Hopefully the shedding is less over time. For now the vacuuming is worth it.
