Really beautiful piece. Solidly made; everything has a feel of higher-end quality. Hickory finish is similar to a white oak color, with color variations that look lovely in person and add to the organic modern vibe of the piece. Pulls are leather (hard to see in the photos). It's raw to the touch; may want to protect it with some matte finishing wax. Super roomy inside, and comes with 3 shelves. This is a very comfortable bench for the end of our bed. The cushion was slightly firmer than expected, but very comfortable. With a name like "Puff Puff" we were worried it might be a little too squishy, but it is not. The only thing minor quibble is that the gray fabric has a slight green undertone, so it doesn't match our bedroom quite as well as we hoped. In the picture, we put small sliders under the legs to prevent indentations in our carpet, so that is not part of the bench leg.
