It took a while before my contractor had a chance to installed it and we found that the light could be defective as it could not be turned off (only became very dim) or turn up as bright as a normal lamp . It also flickered randomly every now and then. Unfortunately by the time we found out about the problem, it passed the date for return. I guess I am stuck with a lemon. Very happy with the design and quality of the fixture, and it provides just the right amount of light over my dining table. However I was disappointed to find there were only two vertical rods included. One is 12" and the other is 6" providing only 18" of length from the ceiling. My own fault for not reviewing the specifications more thoroughly, but it seems like an insufficient amount for many installations, including mine.
