This mirror is very large and sturdy. You could hang it the wide way or the long way, as both sets of notches are built into the back of the mirror. While it is not real wood, it looks like an old, gray wood grain, which is quite pretty. It comes with two braces in case you would like to hang it on the back of a dresser, too.. Lisa Burdick.
