I ordered a sideboard from Allmodern. First delivery the item was damaged and I did not accept delivery. The wood was cracked and peeling away on the bottom of the unit in a very visible area. There was alot of back and forth about whether another unit was available. I finally received a replacement. It too was damaged with some small gouges in the wood of the doors and around the edges. The wood was chipped along the bottom edge above the leg. There were a few red streaks like sharpie marker on the side of the unit. One door was not attached but the delivery men were able to fix it. There was a lot of rearranging of existing furniture to make room for the new piece which had to be put back while waiting for the replacement. Didn’t want to go through it a third time so I accepted the second piece at a 20% discount. Still had to pay over $1400 for damaged goods. I guess it’s not realistic to think that a new piece of furniture should arrive in good condition. I do like the piece of furniture but would expect undamaged goods and much less hassle. Had several issues out of the box. The frame at the bottom was coming apart, and in the process pulling the doors out of alignment. There was a broken chip near one of the door hingers. Several cracks in the side and top. Since it would be a hassle trying to return it, and I plan on using it as a printer stand, I've patched it up myself and added some screws to hold the bottom together. I love this fun and MOD piece! I would have given it 5 stars but none of the doors lined up and closed properly upon arrival. My husband was able to adjust them a little so they work better, but still not perfect. The wood is stained black and the circles on the front can be used as 'handles'. The interior shelves are small, but could be used for board games or odds & ends. We just moved into this new house with a huge, WIDE hallway that needed something as you enter.
