Love this bookshelf. Easy to set up (just had to flip the drawer handles). White glove delivery could have been better, they had to leave it in my unit when I wasn't there and they just put it in the middle and didn't unpack it and take away the boxing (which I'd expect with white glove delivery, so keep in mind if ordering that way).. We searched online and in stores for a long time before landing on the Dakota bookcase, and I'm glad we took our time. We bought two. They're well-built and higher quality than I expected. The wood grain is unusual, but harmonious and not distracting. The legs give them a kind of finished appearance that's perfect in our 1960's apartment. They come assembled - you only have to add the feet - and with the "white glove" service, the guys delivered, set them up and took away all the packing in a jiffy. The only thing I would add is a leveling knob at the bottom of the legs. Our 1960s apartment doesn't have very level floors and it took some futzing with pads to get them even.. Anonymous. It's a really nice looking cabinet, spacious, and even magnetic on the outside. It's perfect for easily accessible storage. Assembly was really difficult. A lot of holes/screws were mis-sized and didn't align. I couldn't manage it myself so had to get a Taskrabbit with the proper tools to help, who was able to get it done quickly. I recommend it if you have a drill and someone to help with assembly, otherwise it is a pain.. Maria. Brooklyn, NY. Fri Jan 23 2026
