Definitely NOT “acorn” colored. This is a dark cherry or mahogany red stained piece of furniture. I am extremely disappointed in how it looked in the photos and how NOT light brown it is. I think the manufacturer either sent me the wrong color or they significantly changed the stain without communicating it to All Modern. That being said, it is great quality, solid, and easy to put together. I won’t be returning because of the cost of the rerun since there was no damage due to shipping. We purchased the Cal King and a beautiful and solid wood piece that was easy to put together. We added a 9” box spring and have a 10” purple mattress on top; this gave a good height and I would recommend no lower then 18-20” because then you would see the non decorative slat on the headboard. The only issue, and this was in a previous review is that with the Cal King there is a few inches extra length. You don’t notice when the bed is made up but in order to keep your pillows from sliding off the bed we pushed the decorative pillows down between the mattress and headboard. I liked the piece enough to make the concession and maybe in the future we would build a 2x2 frame and add fabric to make an end piece to fit in here. If you push the mattress and box spring up to the head of the bed then you get the extra inches at the foot which is very obvious. It took some work but used a French cleat system to hang this mirror as I was fearful the hooks provided wouldn’t be strong enough especially in earthquake prone California. It’s a super clean nice look and very heavy. We also ordered the wood tone one for our other bedroom but that one came with mounting brackets which are quite secure. Our dresser is actually 2 3 drawer small dressers pushed together to make one large one. If you order the regular dresser, the mounting bracket is quite sturdy. The desk arrived earlier than was expected. The desk was packaged extremely well and though the box had dents and dings there was no damage to the desk where there was damage to the box. I love the desk but and it looks pretty well made but there is damage to the inside of the desk. This did not occur from shipping which implies they packaged it that way.
