Disclaimer- I am not a "plant person," and don't have a great track record at keeping house plants alive. That being said, I had to give this one a try...because per the instructions, this plant is, "super easy to grow," and that's a challenge i'm willing to accept! The plant arrived quickly and i was relieved when it arrived because when it was shipped it said that my order of, "faux plant" was in transit...and I was pretty sure I bought a real plant... sure enough, it is a real plant- rest easy. Opened up the box, watered and kind of rustled the soil a little bit to relax the leaves (stalks were somewhat clustered together in packaging), and it is just beautiful- tried really hard to capture the dark purple-green colors of the leaves, but they really don't do it justice. I am still looking for the perfect place to put it (especially because it can live in low, medium and high-light areas, really opens up the possibilities). The first plant I received did not come in a Ceramic Planter, just a plain black plastic pot that you would get in any garden center. I called customer service and sent them a picture.
