I bought this for an open closet space in the entryway/foyer, for my recently renovated house. It happened to fit perfectly and looks great. I was thinking this would be a temporary solution until we installed a fixed rod and shelves, but now I am thinking this freestanding piece is a really good solution. Good and Smart Looking! Was looking for something for space without closets that I'm converting to living/artist studio for my brother. Saw this on another well-known site for more $$ plus a wait. It's got heft and, at the same time, it's neat and streamlined -- the two shelves will eventually hold his shoes and collection of Sox baseball caps. Pretty seamless assembly that took about 20 mins. -- once I stopped trying to rely on the "instructions". As one reviewer noted, they weren't that helpful.
