I didn't use the smart bulb as others did. Not quite a snap to put together (lining up the base takes patience). The tree is just as pictured, but the surprise was how MANY lights it has. That, plus the reflective quality of the silver tree, makes this tree a showstopper. My neighbors also put their Christmas trees in their windows, and from a distance, this one out-shown all the others by its brightness and more pre-lit lights. It was easy to assemble and easy to store, too. I did not put on any ornaments this year; it looked so perfect just as-is. (Yes, you do need to bend and separate the individual branches, since they are compressed for packing and shipping.
