At this price point this is one very life like artificial plant. I have to really look closely to detect that it isn't the real thing. The colors are spot on. The other plants at the base of the snake plant are also very realistic looking. I chose the black planter out of the three available colors. It is made of plastic but looks like a real woven rattan basket. The plant and base planter are actually two separate pieces but there is literally no assembly. You just place the weighted base plant into the top of the planter. This makes for easily placing the plant to your exact style into the planter. Since the plant base is weighted there is no chance of this tipping over under normal use. I like the size too. It is a substantial four foot tall to really fill in an empty space with a pretty green arrangement. I have heard that snake plants are virtually indestructible but I managed to ruin my last live one somehow. That is why this is perfect for people like me. Plus my cat will not leave my plants alone! I have a very high shelf where this will be moved to at some point because it will look great there and it is too difficult to easily reach a plant that requires water. This is also suitable to be used outdoors because all of the materials are UV resistant so that is another option I may try.

I loved the plant itself, very real looking. The problem was with the base not being squared to insert the plant holder. Very disappointing.
