The tree is just as pictured, but the surprise was how MANY lights it has. That, plus the reflective quality of the silver tree, makes this tree a showstopper. My neighbors also put their Christmas trees in their windows, and from a distance, this one out-shown all the others by its brightness and more pre-lit lights. It was easy to assemble and easy to store, too. I did not put on any ornaments this year; it looked so perfect just as-is. (Yes, you do need to bend and separate the individual branches, since they are compressed for packing and shipping. It was very easy to assemble and came with good instructions. Make sure you keep the tree even when shaping and hanging ornaments. Shaping the tree is opposite of a normal tree so remember your point branches down. This tree is a good size if you're going to put it on a table or stand. Just make sure the table or base is sturdy.
