This garland looks better than you think it will! I think it rivals very high end garlands. Yes, the leaves do have a "gray wash" on them that makes them look dirty (read previous reviews). I personally think this effect looks more realistic as the leaves look more like "fallen" leaves and are less bright/vibrant than other garlands. It depends what you like!
