Looks just like the pics. One change I made is to not install the stick on covers over the recessed bolts. The wood color matched, but the wood grain did not. I don't mind seeing the exposed bolts. I may check out the local hardware store and see if there are some solid black plugs that would fit. I think that would add to the modern style.. Michael Edward. Bellingham, WA. Wed Aug 26 2026

This bookcase brings a classic silhouette with updated construction to your main bedroom or living room. It's crafted with a solid and engineered wood frame, and it rests on black-finished iron legs with gold foot caps for a mid-century modern look. We searched online and in stores for a long time before landing on the Dakota bookcase, and I'm glad we took our time. We bought two. They're well-built and higher quality than I expected. The wood grain is unusual, but harmonious and not distracting. The legs give them a kind of finished appearance that's perfect in our 1960's apartment. They come assembled - you only have to add the feet - and with the "white glove" service, the guys delivered, set them up and took away all the packing in a jiffy. The only thing I would add is a leveling knob at the bottom of the legs. Our 1960s apartment doesn't have very level floors and it took some futzing with pads to get them even.. Anonymous. Beautiful piece of furniture. Feels sturdy and substantial, but has a light and airy vibe. The wood finish blends well with an adjacent reclaimed wood sideboard. It is just what I wanted.. Julie. Glenville, NY. Tue Jul 25 2023

The trick is there is no trick. What you see is all you need. The bookcase is about functional space that celebrates a single material and elevates your materials reading and otherwise. Back it up against a sofa, use it along a wall, or float it.

It’s the perfect book case for our entryway and sits just below the height of the couch, which provides utility for setting things on. A simple, modern design yet not in an overt way. The materials are of high quality and the walnut finish completes the overall look of high craftsmanship.. Anonymous. Sun Nov 19 2023
