The exterior of the frame is incredibly high quality, sturdy, and solid with a beautiful finish. My issue with this product was the interior of the frame - the slats and the center rail that supports the middle of the bed. The materials for the interior was very low quality manufactured wood that was splitting and cracked when I received it. Considering these parts are meant to provide the main support of the mattress and weight of its users, I was concerned about how it would hold up. As I was also missing two screws from the hardware kit, I contacted customer support about it and was offered a partial refund and they suggested I replace it myself with lumber from a hardware store. Not the ideal solution, but since I wanted to be able to use the bed asap, I went along with it. Put together, the bed is a quality piece that I'm super proud to have in my new home. I put it together myself over the course of a couple days as I needed to get new materials, as a person of 105lbs and a less than 5 foot stature, but definitely struggled a bit when it came to putting the legs on as they instruct you to build the frame with headboard first... So I would advise having at least two people to work through this one. Overall, I'm happy with it and specifically needed a bed with at least 8" clearance from the floor to fit rolling drawers I had and they fit perfectly!. Kimberly. The Rand Bed arrived in two very heavy boxes and needs to be assembled in the room it's going in. It required more assembly than I expected. Predrilled bed rail screw holes did not line up with the black sheet metal supports making it difficult to assemble. The sheet metal support that runs in the middle of the bed from headboard to foot board is not forgiving, even with the wood & mesh ladder that sits over it to uphold the mattress. The ladder is flimsy and not high quality. Moving the boxes boxes and assembly is a two person job and while it looks good made up, I don't consider it a good quality bed. I wish I had spent more money and got a bed that is easier to assemble. I would not order this bed again or spend the money on a new mattress for it. Attractive bed with a rare aesthetic at a reasonable price. Fabric samples were consistent with final product. HOWEVER: as other reviews have pointed out, the build quality / parts are especially horrific, even for modern day dropship furniture. I read these other reviews and figured other reviewers were just being overly picky. So, allow me to expand so you can make the right call for yourself: an included a screw that wasn't threaded, just a chunk of metal, so you'll need a collection of large gauge screws on hand; one of the running rails that the cross-bars attach to did not have attachment holes, so I drilled out the steel, you'll need cobalt drill bits; the holes in the headboard were not level, so I shimmed the metal corner piece to accomodate, you'll need spare wood/shims; the list goes on. Bottom line is if you're capable/able to build a bed from a collection of semi-raw materials, you'll get the look you're going for.
