I'm not one for ordering furniture online. In fact, this is the first time I've done it. But I liked the style & scale so much I took a chance. To my surprise, it looks just as pictured on the website and the upholstery used on the headboard is much nicer than I expected it would be (and I'm a very particular person). The way it's assembled is similar to high-end furniture and makes it very solid & sturdy. The description online says "solid + manufactured wood". I have yet to find any "solid" wood except maybe for the slats. It's really all manufactured wood but I will say it's a very nicely done finish. Real wood these days in furniture is difficult to come by unless you have an unlimited budget so if you like this style and can are not opposed to manufactured wood I would highly recommend this bed..
