The exterior of the frame is incredibly high quality, sturdy, and solid with a beautiful finish. My issue with this product was the interior of the frame - the slats and the center rail that supports the middle of the bed. The materials for the interior was very low quality manufactured wood that was splitting and cracked when I received it. Considering these parts are meant to provide the main support of the mattress and weight of its users, I was concerned about how it would hold up. As I was also missing two screws from the hardware kit, I contacted customer support about it and was offered a partial refund and they suggested I replace it myself with lumber from a hardware store. Not the ideal solution, but since I wanted to be able to use the bed asap, I went along with it. Put together, the bed is a quality piece that I'm super proud to have in my new home. I put it together myself over the course of a couple days as I needed to get new materials, as a person of 105lbs and a less than 5 foot stature, but definitely struggled a bit when it came to putting the legs on as they instruct you to build the frame with headboard first... So I would advise having at least two people to work through this one. Overall, I'm happy with it and specifically needed a bed with at least 8" clearance from the floor to fit rolling drawers I had and they fit perfectly!. Kimberly. Material and colour of the bedframe were fantastic. Love the wingback detail for a cozy feel. The bed arrived a bit ahead of schedule but well worth the wait (4 weeks). The spacing between where the boxspring rests and where the bottom of the headboard begins is about 20". Keep this in mind for overall use and nightstands as it leaves the overall height of the bed quite high off the floor. We didn't want there to be a gap at the back even though it could be hidden with pillows. It would allow things to slide back or fall behind the bed. (Something to consider if you are purchasing a thinner than normal mattress such as Casper or other boxed mattress companies). The back of the headboard is also not sealed with fabric...it is exposed to attached the headboard to the frame and the wings. It is up against a wall so it doesn't matter but if you are looking to float the bed in a room where the back would be seen I would not recommend this bed. (NOTE: There were 5 instruction manuals included in the delivery. They were similar and yet all somewhat different. Despite the steps...if you purchase this bed attached the wings to the headboard first. Make your frame and attach the siding. Than bring the two portions together for assembly. However, the wood was later inspected to have small chips.
