I bought two to put them side by side along a 13 ft wall I have. They are exactly the same size and fit up next to each other with very nearly perfect alignment, so it looks like one epic, long bookshelf, which I love. They look beautiful and in terms of quality... they are heavy, substantial and super sturdy. They are put together with little dowels and then also with really long bolts that tie each shelf to the next. Every hole is drilled perfectly so it all just falls into place. If you wanted to make them practically indestructible you could glue the dowels before putting the bolts into their holes but I did not: Think of the nicest modern library you have ever visited where they have a reading room designed by a famous interior designer in a building you would see in architecture magazine. This bookshelf looks and feels like that. Very nice lines and overall vibe that is that you have some really expensive bookshelves. I feel like these are going to last for a couple of hundred years and at my funeral loved ones will argue about who gets to keep the bookshelves. I can easily imagine a college kid 75 years from now finding these in thrift shop for $50 and thinking they got the deal of a lifetime... and they will have gotten the deal of a lifetime. These things are going to last forever and people are always going to say "that's a pretty nice bookshelf." Finally, they delivered them the next day, which was great. In the pictures... I just started throwing stuff on the shelves after I put them together because I liked them so much and so what you see isn't the final state... just to give you a sense of how they really look side by side.. It’s a beautiful bookcase that is well made and is easy to assemble. It also came perfectly packaged! I took off one star though because the finish is a lot darker than pictured. I ordered the “natural” wood finish, which looks like blonde wood in the pictures, but in reality it looks more like the “pecan” finish. The shelves are also not white, they are ivory. Aside from the colors not matching the description, it’s a great bookcase! One other thing to note it tapers evenly on both the front and the back, so the top shelves are further away from the wall than the bottom shelves. Very solid piece of furniture! The box was a little beat up, but the furniture was so securely packed that there was no chance it would be damaged (the packaging itself probably weighed 20 lbs!). I ordered it at 11:30pm on Wednesday and it was delivered by midday that Friday--awesome! My husband assembled it by himself one evening. He just needed my help standing it upright at the end. I bought this in the acorn finish. It arrived quickly and was very securely packaged. I was able to put it together myself, although I'm an "old pro" at furniture assembly and you might need two people. The wood looks kind of "pieced together" in places and I wish the screws on the sides had covers for a more finished appearance. However, that being said, I am still very pleased.
