The metal baseplate failed after 16 months under normal use. I was unable to return due to the stated 1yr warranty period. The chair was great otherwise, but it should be able to last longer than a year and a half.

What I like most with this office chair is its refined look, velvet fabric and seat size (for small stature people). Its color matches brownish desk and cabinet.

Base plate, the metal part that connects the chair to the post, had poor welds and snapped after a few months of casual use. Waiting for replacement parts. It's a nice chair, just didn't hold up to modest use.
