Open Plan 35 " Bookcase

This etagere bookcase delivers a clean-lined look with a vertical orientation for your living room or office. It's crafted with a solid and engineered wood frame, featuring four shelf tiers that provide open storage for books or decorative accents. A single drawer is included at the base, offering a spot to tuck away smaller items and essentials. The open-back design maintains a light feel, while the mixed-material construction adds a grounded presence to your space. Plus, the included tip-over restraint device helps provide extra stability for your home.

Looks just like the pics. One change I made is to not install the stick on covers over the recessed bolts. The wood color matched, but the wood grain did not. I don't mind seeing the exposed bolts. I may check out the local hardware store and see if there are some solid black plugs that would fit. I think that would add to the modern style.. Michael Edward. Bellingham, WA. Wed Aug 26 2026

Plus, the included tipover restraint device provides added stability.

Fantastic quality, color, sturdiness and size. I could not wish for more. It is a great upgrade of my bedrum as it perfectly devides it from my working corner. Super easy to assemble, and I did it by myself within 30 min. Highly recommend!. Darko. Jamaica Plain, MA. Sat Aug 01 2026

Initially they unboxed the wrong bookcase but thankfully mine was on the truck and the rest of delivery was fine.. Curt. Middletown, NJ. Thu Sep 17 2026

Clean lines, understated looks, and smart storage. Open Plan has this whole simplicity thing down pat. Display all your fine ephemera up top and cram the rest of your belongings behind classy closed doors with absolutely zero judgment.

I finally pulled the trigger on this shelving unit, as it was the perfect size for an odd-sized wall in a rental house. Overall, the piece is solid but has some flaws indicative of flatpack -- small inconsistencies like visible gaps in a few places where they shouldn't be, visible factory-applied adhesive in a few places, and one shelf with an edge cut slightly crooked to where it was a frustration point during assembly. BluDot has consistently and substantially raised their prices over the past couple of years (this shelf has almost doubled in price), but quality seems as though it is not keeping up with the price point. I purchased the low shelf from the same Open Plan series a couple of years ago and it does not suffer from any of the same issues. I would definitely recommend waiting to purchase BluDot items until they run their annual (sometimes semi-annual, these days) sale.. S. Owensboro, KY. Fri Apr 24 2026
