Stiles Wide Ladder Bookcase

The file cabinet double-box uses these garbage plastic flip-connectors I've never seen before. Some were glued in misaligned and wouldn't latch properly, threatening to let the whole thing fall apart. Even the ones that fully closed have no positive latching. Why make these "toolless" when the rest of the assembly requires tools anyway?! I have ZERO confidence this will survive a move. Maybe even across the house! For $500 this is absurdly bad.

Change my previous post, the piece is damaged on the most visible corner, obviously dropped on that corner, no visible damage to the box so looks like a packaging drop.

These bookcases are absolutely THE BOMB. Downsizing our home has been incredibly stressful and making room for my books and dedicated library has not been fun. I was really wary ordering these, but the ladder configuration is genius ( lots of room for bigger books in the bottom) The big surprise is the wonderful drawers which are equipped for file folders. They fit beautifully and close correctly. I am absolutely smitten with these cases - the finish is great, the color is perfect for us - just a number 10 purchase all the way. I’ll try to put a pic, but they have just been assembled and the project is far from finished.

The bookcase is very smart looking. I took a star off because it arrived damaged, the dowels for the sides broken off and stuck in the holes. I had to buy new dowels and drill out the dowel holes.
