This is absolutely beautiful desk. The base feature robust thick steel legs that visually balance the thick marble top. I consider this a writing desk. I have a slightly modern chair that spreads a bit wider past seat base. My chair fits beautifully at this desk i use for letter writing and paperwork/bill paying and auditing. There is just enough room for my paperwork but I really appreciate the smaller size...far more placement option throughtout my home in comparison to the extremely large desk that dominant the market.
