The tray is nicely designed, and can go well with most type of interior decor. It is made out of solid marble hence the 8lbs weight. The description does say "serving tray" but too heavy for it to be portable. Perfect as a stationed decorative try. Fyi, the gold metal base is detacheable.

This square marble tray is so sturdy. It’s such a nice piece of marble. It lays perfectly on the metal base with no movement. It’s the perfect aesthetic for my kitchen for a catch all! Would highly recommend!

Pretty try....But it's in 2 separate pieces and makes it difficult to pick up and use as a tray ! There's a scratch on the marble and scratches on the metal. Obviously, I like the looks but I will not use it as a serving tray, but as a decorative piece on my serving cart.
