It's a very solid hunk-o-brass with a very nice chrome finish. It's still disproportionately expensive for being a zero-option shower wand. I'd suggest making sure you mount it high enough so that if dropped, it doesn't fall onto your shower surround (tile, stone, glass) like the hammer it is!
