Mitchell 42'' Single Bathroom Vanity

I started with several dozen options, of varying prices, and whittled all down to this Made-in-Vietnam "Mitchell" 42" wall-mounted sink/vanity combo. Our primary bathroom (from 1968!) needed a gut-job. The vanity space is tight (46"); thus, the 42" worked for us. Alas, due to construction delays, the cabinet sat in the garage, unopened, for a couple of months before we finally opened it recently. (The delivery lead time for this vanity was 4-5 weeks.) Let me say, right off the bat, this thing is HEAVY!!! As DIY builders, we agree that it's extremely solid and well-carpentered. The joints, down to the drawers, are very "old-school" in their construction -- meaning they're professional and well-designed. The quartz top is solid and pure white. That said, the detached backsplash (which looked to be extremely well-packed) was broken into three pieces when removed from its container. (Really perplexing breaks considering how well the packaging appeared--no visible damage on the outside whatsoever.) Anyway, despite the fact that we were well-beyond the 30-day return window, All Modern customer reps were able to reach out to the manufacturer and get them to mail us another one gratis!! As it turned out, though, the backsplash wouldn't have worked with the design anyway. However, a couple of the drawers also had some blemishes -- nothing horrible, and barely noticeable (except to us! LOL!) -- which I asked if perhaps they could send me some stain. Surprisingly, the customer rep said she'd send me some stain for the cabinet, along with strict instructions. WOW!! In sum: Despite the broken backsplash, and the small blemishes, I'm still gonna give 5-stars because the piece is really solidly-built (with what looks to be mostly solid acacia, with nominal usage of lauan plywood in the drawers); it's aesthetically perfect for a minimalist, natural look; the soft-shut drawers a plus, too! (I'm attaching pics; although, construction is not complete.) We're VERY happy with the product and customer service follow-through!!! Darryl

Drawers arrived wonky, which disrupts the modern look with clean lines and a grid. Probably fixable with some carpentry help, but disappointing given the price of the item. Separately the backsplash is slightly narrower than the counter top (maybe 5mm), which makes it look more like a separate piece of marble. Otherwise it’s attractive with good storage and solid wood framing for the drawers.

This is extremely heavy to install. You will need blocking behind the drywall. The countertop is attached to the cabinet hence the weight. It should come in 2 pieces to make it an easier install. There was a crack in the back of the cabinet that I saw when installing and some Minor blemishes in the front. Unfortunately I got around to installing it after the 1 month return policy. Would not buy it again.

The marble top is not at all what I was expecting when I imagined “bianco carrara”. One side looks stained, the other side is practically solid gray. I’m disappointed. The countertop is already glued on, so not easy to swap out. I wish I could just swap it locally! But ultimately I will keep this, because I don’t want to pay $150 for return shipping :/
