Wine Lover's "Must Have"!!! from Sugar Land, TX on 12/18/2015 – Verified Buyer
Where has this Wine Breather Decanter been all my life! I Love, Love, "Love" it! I have a wine breather I always relied upon, however, it breaths only one glass at a time. While that did work, the rest of the bottle was unable to continue to develop due to only the surface breathing to the end of the bottle. With the Peter Orsig decanter, the full bottle is breathed and continues to develop giving the wine the opportunity to display the complexities of the wine maker and the vineyard. And, the decanter is attractive. Nothing like turning the bottle over in front of your guest to watch the nectar of the gods hug the sides of the walls as it fills it's belly. Plus you can pour the wine back into the bottle if you want to breathe your wine in advance and take the bottle, not the decanter. Love it!

Pros: Breathes the entire bottle to open the wines story. Can be rebottled after breathing. Beautiful decanter.
Cons: none

Clumsy from Chicago, IL on 12/02/2015 – Verified Buyer
I was so excited when this came in the mail. I have an aerator that you have to hold while you pour, so was naturally looking forward to one that was a little easier to use. Too bad I didn't even get to try- while trying it the first time, it slipped off, fell on the floor, and shattered. I hadn't even had one glass of wine yet :(

This whole thing is clumsy. It is actually very easily possible to push the stopper too far into the neck, causing the rubber ring on the outside to get pushed inside. Not a big deal, but there's no "natural" fit. You just have to play with it until it's right. Then, make sure you're holding onto both the wine bottle and the base of the decanter, perfectly aligned, and flip it... sorry but, great idea... pain in the butt.

Pros: It probably aerates your wine
Cons: You will probably break it.

Beautiful design! from Springfield, VA on 05/05/2015
We are occasional wine drinkers, bought it with the thought it will be great to have it. We have not even tried to use it once.... But, we will.

Pros: Great design, beautiful to look at it!
Cons: Don't know if cleaning can be a problem.

beautiful decanter from hillsborough, NC on 05/27/2015 – Verified Buyer
this is a beautiful decanter that does what it is supposed to do--aerate the wine. have had no problem with leaks or drips when rotating the bottle and decanter pair; we usually flip twice in order to serve the wine from the original bottle. do rinse it immediately after using.

winery owner from Richland, WA on 09/18/2014 – Verified Buyer
This is a great decanter. Really fun to watch - we use it on a bottle when we open it in the tasting room and the customers love to watch the wine run into it and aerate. They get really interested when we turn it over and the wine runs back into the bottle. Perfect way to let a wine breathe and return it to the bottle.

Pretty AND Pretty COOL! from Santa Maria, CA on 06/03/2012 – Verified Buyer
I've used mine twice, both times I returned the wine to the bottle & used a vacuum plug overnight. The wine was great right away AND the next day. On one of the wines, I tried pouring through my single-glass aerator the next day. Wine did improve a little bit more. So, I'm thinking that re-aerating the bottle the next day is a good idea; haven't tried it yet, myself. Gave one as a gift, too, and it was well-appreciated.

Someone said it was not easy to clean... I disagree. It was very easy to rinse out a few times and dry upside down. I guess if your wine has lots of sediment, it could become harder to clean. I think the key is to clean it as soon as you empty it.
