They’re almost exactly as advertised. The plates are described to have a matte finish but they really have a have a pearly shine finish. I am a bit disappointed this is not the look I was going for but I looked for so long, finally piled the trigger on these that I don’t feel like returning and finding others. The organic-shaped edges are very well done, not awkward at all to eat from. They seem durable. I just don’t like the pearlized finish. Beginning at extremely high heat, this enamelware is fused onto the steel base, making it safe for the oven and all heat sources. From there, the items are hand-dipped multiple times to build a porcelain base cover and top coat that can withstand any heat source, including open flame.
