Inspired by the traditional Kantha quilts of India, our quilt is hand embroidered with waves of tiny, contrasting stitches, for great texture and color from end to end. On the undyed version, we've used a multi-color thread for vibrant variation. Crafted of soft, breathable organic cotton, inside and out, it's ideal for year-round use – perfect on its own in the warm months and easy to layer with a blanket or duvet for wintry nights.

The simplicity of linear hand embroidery is celebrated in the subtle stitching that dots this solid landscape of crinkled percale fabric. The fog-washed hues of natural plant life along the shoreline of Northern California are translated into channels of complementary-colored threads hand-stitched into horizontal lines throughout. Organic cotton batting adds a plush, medium-weight warmth. To get the full crinkled effect, we recommend washing and drying before first use.

These hand stitched quilts are very special. The channel stitched version is my favorite. Somehow it's softer than the pebbled version. If channel stitched comes up for sale again, in different color options, I may just end up with a third quilt. They are that nice. Yes, they are expensive, but they're worth it.. Carol. US.
