About the Designer
Peter Raacke Germany (1928 - )
With the design of the legendary Mono-A flatware, the designer, born in Hanau in 1928, made design history. He further developed many designs that have become part of German daily life. In his teaching capacity at design institutions in Darmstadt, Kassel and Ulm, as well as Professor of Industrial Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Hamburg, he influenced many a young designer. In 2003 he was honored with a retrospective – 50 Years of Peter Raacke Design – at the German Technology Museum in Berlin.
In the early '60s the Mono-A series was expanded with the introduction of Mono-E (ebony). Together with Mono-A, Mono-E offers the user alternatives with the same clean lines, based on personal choice.
