Theses are gorgeous fixtures, we have 2 over half of a 10’ length of island, (the other half has a skylight over it). They provide more than enough light, spaced about 18” apart and suspended about 30” above a 36” high countertop. We have 100 watt equivalent LED lamps inside. The fixtures have a cap that is on the top, essentially covering about 20% of the globe, but the overall effect is a nice glow on the walls and ceiling, exactly what we were hoping for. We have two hanging above the dining room table and they look very nice. The bulb provided is a bit too white for the coloring of the lamp so looking to switch to a warmer hue. These pendants are a great addition for a small island countertop (7ft). They really elevated the aesthetic of the lights in our kitchen. You can use any A19 bulb, but we ended up using Edison bulbs to dim the lighting from the pendants. If you're a tall person, make sure you hang them at an ideal height, as the glass does not block all light and will hit your eye level and will not be pleasant -- part of the reason we chose to use Edison bulbs.. Be aware that if you don't have the pendant ready electrical, you will need to install a pendent conversion kit for recessed lighting, which requires a few tools and a capable hand. First let me just say this was packaged really well! This 3 pendant light was very easy to install and lightweight. The fixture does not come with light bulbs but they were super easy to find, small and use less energy than the light fixture I had installed prior so this was a huge plus. The ambient lighting is just what I was looking for to replace florescent lighting. This would be perfect if the wiring wasn’t being covered with a black fabric as opposed to what I originally thought was black metal. I don’t love the way the fabric somewhat bends I’d prefer it to look more taut and straight. Otherwise it’s a beautiful and simple light fixture.
