About the Designer
Christian Ghion France (1958 - )
Born in 1958 in Montmorency, France. Christian Ghion received a law degree in Pris in 1982. He later studied at I’Ecole du Louvre and I’Ecole Nationale Superieure de Creation Industrielle ( ENSCI), graduating in 1987. The same year, he created, with his friend Patrick Nadeau, his own studio Ghion-Nadeau and working on objects, furniture, set and interior design, he began to make a name for himself as a designer. In 1990, ha was granted the 'Grand Pix de la Creation de la Ville de Paris' award. Travels in Asia gave him a great interest in new forms and original materials, both raw and man-made, that he mixes in his designs, reworking archetypes of iconography and constructing his pieces on play with elementary volumes. His interior design works range from homes – the 'Mss Beziat' house in Seine et Marne (1992), to shops and public facilities, such as the show-room for Jean-Charles de Castelbajac counte line or the recent Chantal Thomass fine lingerie.
