After completing his studies in architecture at Cornell, Warren Platner worked with legendary designers Raymond Loewy, Eero Saarinen, and I.M. Pei. Platner immersed himself in the creation of steel wire furniture, devising the method to create lounge chairs, coffee tables, side tables, and dining tables featuring his tangled vision of interwoven steel wires. Among Platner’s architectural achievements are the Georg Jensen Design Center and the Windows on the World restaurant, formerly located on the top floors of the World Trade Center.
