Modern/Contemporary: Features
straight or track arms with
straight lines across the top
and down the arms. These pieces
are very simple, extra padding.
Can be nontraditional shapes and
sizes in entire piece or in
arms. Cushions are usually flat
and attached the back.
Traditional: Features rolled or
slightly curved arms. Many will
have nail head or wood inlay
along the base and up the arms
or have tufted cushions. Most
feet are wooden blocks and the
top of the back shape is
straight across or has a slight
hump
Transitional: A bit softer than
modern lounges and less ornate
