Expectations were met based on what I paid from Petersburg, AK on 05/12/2015 – Verified Buyer
As this item is not high-end, I fully expected to get a functional, solid product reflective of the price. Hopefully, my 14 year old son will be able to treat it with care, as I would list the quality as a step or two down from Ikea's low-end furniture. It is a press-board product covered in a thin laminate type skin. I bought it as a set with the Prepac Sonoma storage platform bed, computer desk and 2 of the Hawthorn 48" bookcases, all in black. It looks very nice in the room. Be aware that this headboard listed as being available in full/double size is, in fact, queen sized. As a result, the full/double storage platform bed looks obviously smaller. Also, there is a lip on the headboard base that doesn't allow for the drawers (closest to the headboard) on the storage platform bed to open without pulling the bed away from the headboard. Overall, there were a few issues with the directions being unclear or out of order, but we figured it out. Pros: Affordable pricing and matching set Cons: Easily scratches and chips

Decent for teens room from Bolton, MA on 09/23/2010 – Verified Buyer
I purchased this headboard for my teenage sons bedroom. He saw it in a magazine and really liked the looks of it. The assembly went pretty smoothly, it just took a while. It would have gone faster if they would have had a little sticker on the boards labeling them A, B, C, D etc. At a distance the head board looks great. But I was disappointed to see the glue line along the edges on most boards. We purchased the black version. They may not show up as much on the lighter color head boards. I ended up using a black permanent marker on some of the edges as well as on the edge of the board that is nailed across the back. You could see the edge of this board from the top and side, so it looked white against the rest of the black. I just ran a black permanent marker along the edge [making sure not to get any on the top or side boards, as it would show the mark]. We have not set it up in his room yet, because we are still readying the walls to be painted.

Very Nice Sonoma Headboard! from Mansfield, TX on 06/02/2015 – Verified Buyer
Bought two headboards to match two Sonoma platform/storage beds for my boys in black. Great look together. The headboard bookcase and bed drawer storage is a perfect solution for their rooms, truly solved storage issues and looks great too!

Cute, but not a great product overall. from Barrington, Illinois on 01/11/2008 – Verified Buyer
We bought this for our 4 year old son and it looks cute in his room. However, there is a reason this is an inexpensive product. It is difficult to put together...took my husband 4-5 hours and he is EXTREMELY handy. Holes did not line up properly and when he had to pound sections to get them to attach, the veneer breaks through VERY easily. He ended up having to gorilla glue a bunch of sections, because it was so flimsy, we were afraid it would fall apart if our son jumped or climbed on it, which a 4 year old may do, whether we want them to or not. The saving grace is the price and that it IS cute for a little boys room. Lots of room for books and toys, etc... If you do buy this, enjoy it for the now, because it is definitely not a product that will last for years and years. We figure if we get 2 years out of it, then it was worth the money. I can't honestly recommend this product for someone wanting to make an investment in good, long-term furniture. I should have listened to other negative reviews I read, because they are correct. But, if you are on a tight budget, have a very patient and handy person, with lots of tools at their access, to put this together and only plan on keeping it for a few years, than it is an okay choice.

Great Value from Hamilton, OH on 02/26/2012 – Verified Buyer
I ordered this headboard for my guest room, and am very pleased. The assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow. The only slight issue was that there was a little bit of unfinished edge visible along the front, where it was not quite aligned (possibly due to my construction skills). A bit of black permanent marker fixed the problem. I love the new look this headboard lends to the room.
