Designers Lella and Massimo needed casual furniture for their home near Sorrento. To satisfy this need, they designed a multi-purpose indoor-outdoor grouping ideal for home, hospitality and office environments. Lella and Massimo Vignelli are among the world's most influential designers. They have brought clarity and coherence to countless projects. Their work is in the permanent collections of museums worldwide, including MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. Throughout the years they have help shape corporate identity and provided assistance with publications and product design for Knoll, Cinxsno, Xerox, Perugina, Heller, RAI television and IBM. In 2003 they received the National Design Lifetime Achievement award.Debuting in 2008, the Botanist Blank Canvas project features the original, limited-edition collections of eight designers. Each designer began with a blank Botanist end table, cocktail table and bench and then imprinted them with a unique design. Not only are these pieces eco-friendly, durable and stunning, they also give back: a portion of the sale of every product in the Blank Canvas series goes to a charity of the designer's choice. This cocktail table features a design of typesetting lines by Massimo and Lella Vignelli, a prolific design duo who won the National Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cooper-Hewett Museum in 2003.
