Born in Seoul, Korea, in 1972, Mika H.J. Kim graduated with Bachelor's degree in Visual and Industrial Design at the Seoul National University, as well as a Master's degree in Industrial and Spatial Design. As the Chief Designer for the Design Studio Mika & Heni in Budapest, he has participated in several design projects and exhibitions, winning the Special Prize of the Korean Industrial Design Exhibition in 2001. Kim performs his design projects in various fields including product design, spatial design, graphic design and textile design upholding a strong holistic philosophy on ecological consciousness. Many of his products feature ecological design aspects through the use of environmentally-friendly materials and via their specific ecological ways of use.
