Mash Studios Series Wood Picnic Bench

I'm very disappointed with my bench. I purchased it to use in my front hallway, with the option to pull it into the dining room when we had a crowd for dinner. I was anticipating a quality bench. While the wood is very pretty, the construction is not. The two screw heads on the outside of the bench have a cheap plastic coating. The four "plugs" on the inside of the legs are much darker than the bench wood, and they don't push in flush or flat (on my bench, two fit loose in the holes and the other two actually required a rubber mallet to insert. Finally, on my bench, one leg is slightly warped so the edge of the legs doesn't meet the end of the bench quite right at the corners. The provided instructions are completely wrong (think IKEA circa 1990). After a little head scratching, I ignored them and it was not difficult to figure out what to do. It did arrive nicely packed and with all the required parts. Finally, in order to put in 3 of the allen-head screws, I now need to find my own allen head screwdriver, as they are recessed far below the reach of the provided allen wrench. Of course, I don't own one of those... Seeing the built bench (although it's still upside down until I drive to the hardware store for the tool I need) I'd have expected to pay $200-300 rather than $500. I might put it in the breakfast room instead...

This bench is a nice-looking, good quality piece of furniture. It was easy to assemble and looks high quality. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Quite pleased with this bench. It's very sturdy with a very nice wood grain. My only gripe is that the assembly instructions are poorly illustrated and difficult to decipher.
