Spanish industrial designer Josep Lluscà is renowned for creations that merge practicality and art in the public arena. Born in 1948, he studied at the Eina School of Barcelona, where he is now a professor in the Industrial Design department and a board member. Lluscà established his own studio in 1972 and has worked on a variety of projects, including seating, lighting, applied electronics, toys, and urban facilities for such companies as Cassina, Driade, FLOS, General Electric, Oken, Permasa, WMF, Rosenthal, Sanyo, and Sara Lee.
Lluscà has also served as a member of ADI-FAD, the Design Council of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Advisory Council of the BCD Foundation, and his works are displayed in collections around the world. He has received prestigious international awards for his designs, including the Delta d'Oro from ADI-FAD, the 'Industrial Design Excellence Award' from the Industrial Design Society of America, the 'IF-Product Design Award for Excellence Design' from the IF-Industrie Forum Design of Hanover, 'Best of Neocon' in Chicago, 'ALAN International Aluminum Award' from the Swedish Foundation of Industrial Design, and the 'National Design Award' in Spain.
