In the midst of the modern design movement in the 1960s, Warren Platner turned a simple concept -- transforming steel wire into a unique and supremely modern sculptural furniture collection -- into a creative masterpiece: the Platner Table series. The Design

Designed in 1966, the Platner Dining Table is truly a unique piece. Considered by many to be a design icon of the modern era, the Platner Table's harmonious forms are created by welding curved vertical steel wire rods to circular frames, producing a moiré effect.

Decorative, gentle and graceful, the Platner Dining Table is truly one of a kind. An elegant latecomer to the mid-century modern movement, this table works in virtually limitless settings thanks to a diverse array of tabletop options. In addition, a metallic bronze base finish is now available alongside the original polished nickel finish, while a bronzed glass top option has been added to further expand its applications.

Coated marble tops have transparent polyester coating to help eliminate use-associated stains

Natural marble tops and granite tops have protective sealer

White Glove Platinum Additional Information:

This item will be delivered by a white glove freight carrier. White glove carriers are different from common carriers in that they provide the customer with many benefits throughout the delivery process. Unlike common carriers, a white glove delivery team consists of at least two people so you will not be burdened with helping the driver carry your order from the back of the truck to your home.

Important note: Once your order arrives in your area, a representative from the white glove carrier will call you to arrange a 4 hour window for delivery. You MUST inspect your package at the time of delivery. If the product has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.

White Glove Freight Service Level

This item ships using the Platinum level of white glove service. Please read the service description below for details.

White Glove Platinum
Platinum service level provides two-man delivery to inside your residence to the room you choose. This service includes carrying the product up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights please contact us*. Once the product is in the room you desire, the shipper will unpack the product and provide light setup that requires basic tools (i.e. pieces will be screwed or bolted together, set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other). The shipper will also remove and dispose of all packaging.

*In all cases the shipper will not hookup any electrical or component wires. Having items carried up more than 25 steps and longer assembly periods are available as additional services which would require additional charges. Please contact us if you feel you need these services.

I purchased this table for my kitchen. I have an open floor plan and was looking for a kitchen table that would fit nicely in the space, yet look very stylish. Boy did this table deliver. It is just the right scale for the space, not too big but still has presence. It pared with the Knoll Bertoia side chairs really makes a modern, yet elegant statement. Bottom line BEAUTIFUL table!!!
