Haapaniemi, Klaus


Klaus Haapaniemi London-based illustrator and designer Klaus Haapaniemi draws inspiration from 1970’s and 80’s Russian and Czechoslovakian cartoons, Ivan Biliban, and nature – specifically, forests and animals. Haapaniemi has worked as Diesel’s key-print designer, and some of his commercial clients include Cacharel, Levis, and the Italian line, Bantam. He has produced a book of his illustrations, entitled “Monsters,” and is working on his own fashion line. For his Taika collection for iittala, the Finnish-born designer merges folklore and architecture to create a modern world of ceramic dinnerware.
