David Podsiadlo David studied Industrial Design before contributing to a number of architectural and interior design firms in Toronto. In 1999 he co-founded Stylegarage in the city's West Queen West neighborhood, which served as a retail outlet for his furniture designs, emphasizing raw materials, clean lines, and basic forms. After quickly gaining local notoriety for his contemporary, unfussy approach to furniture, David and his partners launched Gus* in 2001, taking his designs to a North American market and earning the "Best New Collection" distinction at the 2001 International Gift Fair in Manhattan. Collecting accolades ever since, David continues to serve as partner and Lead Designer at Gus*
A vinyl upholstered seat and back atop an oak frame form the iconic shape of the Thompson Chair. This chair also looks great paired with the Gus* Span Dining Table.

Great Chairs The chairs are beautiful, well made and very affordable. The go nicely with my mid-century dining room. The color is not a true white, more like a cream but they look great done the less, I highly recommend these chairs. |

Cool comfort My house is modern with lots of big, glass windows and hardwood floors throughout. These are perfect and extremely comfortable. I purchased them for the Span table which hasn't come yet but I think it will be a great look all around. |

Worst chairs ever! Bought a set of four chairs and they started to fall apart after 3 months! Literally screws falling out of the seat backs onto the floor. After 1.5 yrs of NO WARRANTY we are shopping for replacements! $1100 gone! Ikea is a better product. DO NOT BUY THESE CHAIRS! |

Not the color I expected The chairs are lightweight and comfortable but the cushions are far from the color expected. I could have gone with either white or black and chose white after much deliberation. What was received was very clearly cream. Doesn't look awful and after the huge hassels with delivery I decided to keep them but be warned... .if you need white you may not get it. |

Great Chair bur not really white. We purchased 6 of the WalnutWhilte chairs. The chairs are great quality, sturdy and comfortable but the picture and description say they are white, they are actually a cream or ecru color. After 4 weeks of shopping for bright white chairs then waiting 8 weeks for these to be delivered we decided to just keep them. |

Thompson Chair We ordered 6 of these to use as dining chairs in the walnut wood finish and ivory leather. They are very small scale but they worked perfect for our modern design with a retro twist. Very comfortable also! |

Quality? I love the look of these chairs, and they're very comfortable at our kitchen table. Low back support is very good. BUT the fabric/paper stuff on the under side of the seat cushion has completely shredded in the past 14 months leaving bits of white stuff on our kitchen floors. I did a home-repair, covering the bottom of the seats with plastic using a staple-gun -- but that's really not very satisfactory. Too bad I ordered the chairs online, otherwise I would've taken them back to the retailer. |

Awesome chair for the price Solid, comfortable and looks great. I was concerned at it being vinyl vs leather but so far so good and looks like it will last. We have these as dining room chairs and they work well in the space. We got walnut with white and we really like the color however we thought we were getting something darker. Turns out we are happier with what we got. There are 3 colors displayed in the images online - natural, walnut and wenge. The wenge doesn't seem to be available for purchase anywhere so just note that the walnut is not the darkest one pictured. |

Thompson Chair We like the chair . We want papers from the mfr. with warranty material (which we expected to receive with the shipment)We would also like paperwork from you folks with warranty info. as you guarantee the chair. We had expected all this when the chairs were delivered. Our rep (Tawny) from whom we ordered them told us we would get it. While we like the appearance of the chairs, we hope they are built to last. They feel a little flimsy. Re recommendation...maybe. |
