David Podsiadlo David studied Industrial Design before contributing to a number of architectural and interior design firms in Toronto. In 1999 he co-founded Stylegarage in the city's West Queen West neighborhood, which served as a retail outlet for his furniture designs, emphasizing raw materials, clean lines, and basic forms. After quickly gaining local notoriety for his contemporary, unfussy approach to furniture, David and his partners launched Gus* in 2001, taking his designs to a North American market and earning the "Best New Collection" distinction at the 2001 International Gift Fair in Manhattan. Collecting accolades ever since, David continues to serve as partner and Lead Designer at Gus*
The natural striations in the exotic wood veneers - highlight the unique, sculptural shape of the Pawn Stool. It makes a striking accent piece and, thanks to its solid construction, can also be used as a stool or end table.

nice table We've used this side table in our office for the last few years and it still looks great. The grain is a little more subtle than appears in the photo and there is a nice matte finish on it. Fits nicely between two lounge chairs or in a clustered group. |

Great little tv table/seat Looks great in the living room and is very sturdy but not impossibly heavy which makes it easy to move around |

Attractive and Functional I purchased the walnut version of this stool, and it looks just as it does in the picture. Nice, rich wood tone. It is lightweight and easy to move around. Not a heavy, solid wood piece, but a decent, stable surface that can accommodate a lamp and a drink. Adds a dash of modern style to my cottage living room. |

Simple design The Pawn Stool attracted me by it's simple, unique design. I knew before purchasing it that it was venner and probably not solid wood however it would be a better product if it was more solid. Pros: Nice design Cons: Light weight, hollow middle |
