About the Designer
Ruud-Jan Kokke Netherlands (1956 - )
A graduate of the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design, Kokke started his own studio in 1986. Since then, he has designed nearly everything: various consumer objects, beds, chairs, lamps, display cases and even a football cage for the Amsterdam city council. Kokke designs products of high visual quality and a certain austerity. Functionality, though, always leads the way.
The Museum stool was designed for the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam to replace the permanent furniture, which was often in the way. Today, visitors to the museum can still borrow one to carry around for sitting on anywhere, anytime.
