About the Designer Folke Arström Sweden (1907 - 1997)
Folke Arström was both an artist and an industrial designer. He began his career as an artist and design functionalist in the 1930s. His exhibitions of artworks in tin, silver and bronze created a great deal of interest. From 1940 and for the next 20 years, Arström was the artistic director of AB GENSE in Sweden, responsible for both design and sales successes in the fields of flatware and kitchenware. Folke Arström belonged to the first generation of Swedish industrial designers. He had a sense for the demands of the market and was a driving force in the world of design. These factors made him a role model for the whole of the designer world.
