Born in Udine, Italy in 1952, designer Enrico Franzolini studied architecture at the University of Venice. In 1972, Franzolini was invited to the 36th Biennale Exhibition of decorative arts in Venice. His first personal exhibition at Udine’s Plurima Gallery in 1978 marked the beginning of his interest in minimal architecture and product design. Franzolini has worked with such furniture companies as Accademia, Alias, Cappellini, Crassevig, Gervasoni, Knoll International, Montina, Moroso and Pallucco.
Franzolini met fellow designer Vicente Garcia Jimenez when he moved to Italy. The pair collaborated on the acclaimed Big Bang light series for Foscarini and the Glow series for Pallucco.
