Livio Castiglioni Italy (1911 - )Born in Milan in 1911. Livio Castiglioni graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1936. He started working with his brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo immediately after the war focusing their attention mainly on city planning, architecture and particularly on design. All the experiments and studies on design were possible thanks to the many exhibitions they designed and where Livio worked as light and sound technician.
Piero Castiglioni Italy (1944 - )Peiro Castiglioni born in Lierna (Como) in 1944. He graduated in architecture in 1970 in Milan, where he lives and works, devoting most of his energies to lighting technology, designing luminaires and lighting systems for museums and both public and private settings. In 1972, he took part in the "Italy: the new domestic landscape" show in the "Museum of Modern Art" of New York, together with Ugo La Pietra. From 1973 to 1979, he worked with his father, Livio Castiglioni, to whom he owes his excellent training. Since 1989, he has been running "Flare", the four-monthly magazine dedicated to light.
